Young Inquisitive Minds Transcend Borders
The Preschool Programme is dedicated to providing a caring, stimulating and safe environment that enables young children to develop to their full potential. Curiosity, inquisitiveness and creativity are allowed to flourish and become rooted in their approach to learning.
What We Wish to Accomplish With Our Young Learners
We encourage learners of all ages to ask questions, to seek answers, to argue, to reflect on the findings, and to act. We want our students to learn how to learn for real life, at daycare and beyond.
What Acadekidz is for Preschoolers
Affiliated with Académie de la Capitale, an International Baccalaureate® (IB) World School authorized for the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Acadekidz Preschool Programme adopts its inquiry-based approach to learning and discovering about the world.
• A bilingual programme
• An option of a 10 or 12 month contract in our inquiry-based programme for students aged 32 months up to 5 years old.
Our Approach with Children Ages 32 Months To 5 Years Old
AcadeKidz educators believe children who are respected in their intellectual, social, physical, emotional, and self-management development grow up having a positive self-image. Therefore, they engage preschool children in a variety of individual, collaborative and cooperative play and learn activities. Our guided inquiry-based framework to learning encourages children to be curious; to make and to test out predictions about their world in a safe environment. AcadeKid educators have the time to interact with each child, as giving constant and relevant feedback is essential to the child constructing his/her knowledge of the world.
The IB Learner Profile
A pivotal component of the PYP is the IB Leaner profile, a set of values and attributes that contribute to the development of the internationally minded person. At AcadeKIDZ, young learners are taught to be inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk-takers, balanced and reflective and we encourage parents/guardians to reinforce these attributes at home.
Programme of Inquiry
The PYP instills a positive attitude to learning. Rather than confining learning to the boundaries of traditional subject areas, learning is centered round six themes of global significance which are explored in the classroom using several subjects. This transdisciplinary programme, called the Programme of Inquiry, makes students understand connections between learning and the ‘real world”, thus engaging the children and stimulating their desire for learning.
The Programme of Inquiry crosses disciplines and empowers children to be inquisitive; the units of inquiry provide guidelines to explore the themes.
